The South Carolina Aquarium
The Charleston Museum - Visitors of all ages will be

The Avery Research Center for
African-American History and Culture - Houses
permanent and visiting exhibits and archives relating to the history of
the sea islands and the "Gullah" culture.
The Slave Mart
Museum - This hub of the African- American National Heritage Museum
is one of several locations where slaves were sold in Charleston. The
last auctions at this market were in 1863.
The Heyward-Washington House
- Located in the downtown Historic District, within the area of the
original walled city, this brick double house was built in 1772 by rice
planter Daniel Heyward as a town-house for his son, Thomas Heyward, Jr.
The City rented it for George Washington’s use during the
President’s week-long Charleston stay, in May 1791, and it has
traditionally been called the "Heyward-Washington House."
The
Joseph Manigault House - The most elegant of Charleston's historic
buildings is the Charleston's Museum's Joseph Marigault House, a
national historic landmark.
The Aiken-Rhett House - The Aiken-Rhett
House stands alone as the most intact townhouse complex showcasing urban
life in antebellum Charleston. Built in 1818 and greatly expanded by
Gov. and Mrs. William Aiken, Jr. in the 1830s and 1850s, the house has
survived virtually unaltered since 1858.
Boone Hall Plantation
& Gardens - Boone Hall reflects Southern heritage spanning 300
years on one magnificent still working plantation. Gardens, slave
cabins, dining, gift shop plus one of the world’s longest oak-lined
avenues.
Charleston Tea Plantation - One
of America's true treasures and its only commercial tea farm.
Middleton Place - An 18th
century rice plantation and National Historic Landmark comprising
65-acres of America’s oldest landscaped Gardens. A tour of the House
Museum highlights family collections and the Middleton’s role in
American history. Explore the stable yards where craftspeople recreate
the activities of a self-sustaining lowcountry plantation.
Cabbage Row: The section of Church St.
used as the inspiration for "Catfish Row" in the Dubose
Heyward story, "Porgy." This story was the basis for
Gershwin's opera "Porgy and Bess," which is a fictionalized
glimpse of black life during the 1920's. The character "Porgy"
was based on an actual Charlestonian, Samuel Smalls.

RiverDogs Baseball - The Charleston RiverDogs
are a Single A Minor League Baseball Club affiliate for the New York
Yankees. We provide fun, affordable entertainment in a gorgeous downtown
ballpark April – August.
Cypress
Gardens - Cypress
gardens is a 170-acre Berkeley County park with beautiful gardens,
walking paths, and cypress swamp. Visitors tour the swamp in
flat-bottomed boats.
